L.A. Controller’s Audit Looks at City’s Construction Cost Overruns

Los Angeles – City Controller Ron Galperin released an audit that examined how the City manages change orders­­extra costs incurred when conditions change during construction. The report found that Los Angeles generally did not spend more than other cities and private builders on construction due to change orders, except in one case: construction of the new Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX.
